Additional information about homeschooling and how to submit homeschool documentation is available on the the state website. The GaDOE web-based system is located on the GaDOE homeschool webpage. Parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to use the web-based system to submit their homeschool Declaration of Intent and attendance records as doing so will save time and resources for both the parent/guardian and the GaDOE. The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) provides a web-based system to efficiently comply with these homeschool requirements. House Bills 39 and 706, passed during the 2012 legislative session and signed by the Governor, moved the responsibility of homeschool reporting from local school systems to the Georgia Department of Education. Every parent, guardian, or other person within this state having control or charge of any child or children between their 6th and 16th birthday(s) shall enroll and send such child or children to a public school, a private school, or a home study program (O.C.G.A.§ 20-2-690 et.seq.).
